Blues - pentatônica - pentatonic - blues

A escala do Blues, a 5 ª posição.

E ------------------------------------------ 5-8 -
B ----------------------------------- 5-8 ---------
G ------------------------- 5 - 7 - 8 ----------------
D ------------------ 5-7 --------------------------
A 5 -------- - 6-7 ---------------------------------
E - 5-8 ------------------------------------------ -

Blues Lick 1:

E -------------------------
B -------------------------
G -------------------------
D -------------------------
A 5 -------- - 6-5 ---------
E - 5-8 ------------ 8-5 -
Blues Lick 2:

E --------------------------
B --------------------------
G --------------------------
D ---------------------- 8 -
A 5 -------- - 6-5 ---------
E - 5-8 ------------ 8 -----

Blues Lick 3:

E -------------------------
B -------------------------
G ------------ 5 ------------
D ----- 5-7 ------ 7-5 - 7 -
A - 7 ----------------------
E --------------------------
Blues Lick 4:

E ----------------------- 5 - 8 - 5 ----------- 5 -
B ---------------- 5-8 ----- 8 ------------------
G ----- 5 - 7 - 8 --------------------------------
D - 7 -----------------------------------------
A --------------------------------------------
E ---------------------------------------------

You'll soon discover as I put up blues scales in more keys that we are using the same patterns just in different positions on the guitar neck. You really don't need to learn a lot of theory or scales to be able to play reasonably well. If you focus on learning the basic patterns you'll find you will be able to play along with a lot of music in a relatively short space of time.

Blues Licks for Slow Blues in A

Here are 4 simple blues licks that use only the notes from the A Blues Scale shown above. Try playing each lick over the entire progression. Notice that when you play the same notes over the different chords the licks sound very different. You can work out different rhythms to play for each lick and vary the notes used to make up your own blues licks.

That's what improvising is all about. Listening to others to get ideas, listening to the music you can sing in your head, emulating those ideas and sounds and then just playing around with them to come up with your own ideas. This is how you build your own sound. It's not a hard process to go through, you just need to spend time on it and be patient. Don't try and rush to get to the next level. Play, play more and play some more. Getting good will happen with practice. If you need to keep your hands on the neck getting good will take care of itself.

Notas naturais e acidentes - accidents and natural notes

NOTAS NATURAIS

A - LA
B - SI
C - DÓ
D - RÉ
E - MI
F - FA
G - SOL

A B C D E F G A
1 tom ½ tom 1 tom 1 tom ½ tom 1 tom 1 tom

Ab A A# Bb B B# Cb C C# Db D D# Eb E E# Fb F F# Gb G G#
½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom ½ tom
[ 1 TOM ] [ ½ TOM ] [ 1 TOM ] [ 1 TOM ] [ ½ TOM ] [ 1 TOM ]

3A. G ( SOL )

4A. D ( RÉ )
5A. A ( LA ) } BORDÕES - CORDAS GRAVES
6A. E ( MI )

NATURAL NOTES

The notes more popularly known, are named after natural notes, they are: C, D, MI, FA, SOL, LA, SI.

FIGURES

To represent the notes musically, we use a representation that we call numbers. Thus are represented:

A - LA
B - SI
C - DOH
D - RE
E - MI
F - FA
G - SOL

It is important to memorize these numbers for a quick understanding how to put notes.

ACCIDENTS

So are called variations of notes or chords or tones escalas.como saw the natural notes are so named because of lack acidentes.A below demonstrate some of the accidents most often used.
Pound (#)

• sharp is used to represent a change in semitone above (explained after the subject accident)
For example: # (touch up the note or chord La semitone above)

La (5th house 6th. Rope), La # (6a. 6th house. Rope).

Flat (b)

• Flat means the opposite of sharp. Touch up the note or chord a half step down from the original.
For example: Ab (plays up the half step down from her original).

La (5th house 6th. Rope), Lab (4th to 6th house. Rope).

HUE

The notes have a difference of sound, the difference is marked by the tone, then we will see the difference between the notes as to its sound.
(La) (Si) (C) (D) (E) (Fa) (sun) (La)
ABCDEFG
1 ½ tom tom one tom tom one 1 ½ tom tom tom one

Note: The notes end with i (mi, si) are the ones with half step to the next. All others have a pitch to the next. This is vital knowledge for the study of guitar or acoustic guitar.

Tom tom ½ ½ ½ ½ tom tom tom ½ ½ ½ tom tom tom ½ ½ ½ tom tom tom ½ ½ ½ tom tom tom ½ ½ ½ tom tom
[TOM 1] [½ TOM] [TOM 1] [1 TOM] [TOM ½] [1 TOM]

TOM: difference of two houses of the instrument.
SEMI-TONE: difference of only one house from one note to another arm of the instrument.

The notes played successively in this way form the scale that we call
Chroma. (The notes are played SEQUENCE: AA # BCC # DD # EFF # GG #).

The notes have two names: A #, Bb are called enharmonic notes.
The notes have only one name: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, are called harmonic notes.

Leitura de tablatura - Reading tablature

TABLATURA

Ver exemplo:

 ---2 3 5----------------------- 1º corda
 --------------------------------- 2º corda
 --------------------------------- 3º corda
 ----------------0------------------- 4º corda OBS: O Zero indica tocar corda solta.
 ----------------------------------- 5º corda
 ---------------------------------- 6º corda

TABLATURE

• most popular way to read music is a tablature. Through it we can see intervals or chords of a song and the technique used for each site. There are six lines, each representing a string instrument's neck, and the numbers placed on the lines represent the houses to be played. See example:

 ----------------------- --- 2 3 5 1 rope
 --------------------------------- 2nd string
 --------------------------------- 3rd string
 ---------------- 0 ------------------- 4 string Note: The Zero indicates playing string.
 ----------------------------------- 5 string
 ---------------------------------- 6 string

This indicates tablature for playing the second, third and fifth houses of the first string. Always read from left to right.

-------------- 3 ----------------------
-------------- 3 ----------------------
0 -------------- ---------------------- When the numbers are grouped into one
-------------- 0 ---------------------- upon the other one should touch them to
-------------- 2 ---------------------- same time, ie, represents a
-------------- 3 ----------------------- chord or interval, here, the sun (G).

To identify the techniques used in a particular piece of music is necessary to understand how the reading of some symbols used in tablature, we shall see.
